Why Sourdough

Bread, the way it was always meant to be.

Modern bread is rushed. Ours isn't. Each loaf rests, ferments, and develops on its own quiet schedule — and you can taste every hour.

  • Gut-Friendly

Better digestion thanks to natural fermentation.

  • Fewer Additives

We use only flour, water, salt and yeast — nothing you can't pronounce.

  • Slower Blood Sugar Rise

Compared to eating normal white bread, sourdough releases energy more gradually.

  • Better Nutrition

Fermentation helps your body absorb minerals like zinc, iron and magnesium more easily.

  • Longer Shelf Life

Your bread stays fresh for longer without any preservatives.

  • Fuller for Longer

After eating 2 slices in the morning, you feel satisfied for hours. You're less likely to crave snacks, you'll want to eat later at dinner, and you'll enjoy stable energy throughout the day — fuller for longer than highly processed white bread.

Our Story

It started with a sensitive stomach — and a simple question.

Our sourdough journey began with a sensitive stomach.

After being diagnosed with IBS, I started paying much closer attention to the foods I was eating. Regular bread often left me feeling uncomfortable and bloated, so I began searching for alternatives made with simpler, more natural ingredients.

That's when I discovered sourdough. My boyfriend would bring me fresh loaves from town, and I was amazed by the difference. It wasn't just the flavour but it was the way traditional, naturally fermented bread felt so much easier to enjoy.

One day we asked, "Why don't we make our own?"

That simple question sparked a journey of learning, baking, and sharing. What began in the kitchen has grown into a passion for creating handcrafted sourdough bread using time-honoured methods, quality ingredients, and plenty of patience.

We believe good bread shouldn't be rushed, filled with unnecessary additives, or difficult to enjoy. It should be simple, nourishing, and made the way bread was meant to be.
